Elaphoglossum trilobate

Origin: Ecuador

Soil:prefers to be mounted to wood with sphagnum

Temperature: typical vivarium temperatures

The leaves are about 1/2″ square.

Epidendrum gnomus

Origin: Peru

Lighting: medium – high light

water: medium moisture – prefers to dry slightly between waterings

Temperature: typical vivarium temperatures

This is a small growing orchid which is perfect for terrariums.  It has leaves which reach around 1″ in length.  It will flower with beautiful yellow and maroon flowers.  This species does best mounted.

  1. Cool that the first one comes from Ecuador. My wife is from Ecuador. Her father would hate the second plant that comes from Peru. Some Ecuadorians still feel like they’re at war with Peru. Although my wife and I both agree that for the most part Peruvian food tends to be better than Ecuadorian food.
